You will often hear professionals say if you are constipated eat fiber. Bran, Metamucil, psyllium, Weet-Bix, etc. In the clinic I have found two issues with this. One, if you are already constipated you are adding fuel to the fire as its only absorbing extra water and exacerbating the problem. Two, when people take fibre they don’t increase their water.
