When you think of Vitamin C, oranges and other citrus fruits might spring to mind. But drinking an abundance of orange juice isn’t the only way to get your dose of Vitamin C.
At Bottoms Up, we’ve launched our new High Potency Vitamin C-Encapsulated Supplement. This all-natural drink makes it easier for your body to absorb Vitamin C by keeping the potency of the dosage until it reaches your small intestine.
Vitamins can be tricky to understand, and how our body absorbs them can be equally as complex. But they are an important part of your holistic health journey. So don’t worry, we are going to break down all things Vitamin C!
While Vitamin C is commonly used to treat colds, it plays an important role in maintaining good gut health. This nifty vitamin helps your gut strike a balance between good and bad bacteria. Vitamin C is also known to improve your gut barrier, which promotes health absorption of certain nutrients. It also helps protect you from unwanted toxins that may be in your body.
Though taking Vitamin C can drastically improve your overall health, don’t take too much. It takes a lot of Vitamin C for unpleasant side effects to settle in, so if you really overdo it then you can experience some awkward and uncomfortable digestive issues, including cramps and nausea.
While it’s incredible that we have readily available Vitamin C, such as in fresh fruits and vegetables, it’s actually hard for our bodies to store this vitamin. It’s known that Vitamin C is water-soluble, which means it dissolves in water and gets processed by us, but our bodies struggle to store it.
Our intestines can absorb Vitamin C in limited doses. When we take Vitamin C, we have to be mindful of the dosage. As you take more, your body will absorb less and less of the full amount.
This is where our High Potency Encapsulated Vitamin C tea comes in. Our tea is encapsulated in a liquid, meaning the vitamin’s potency is protected until it reaches your small intestine where the vitamin will be absorbed quickly and seamlessly into your bloodstream.
To use this tea, you heat 700ml of water to 38 degrees celsius. Avoid boiling the water as that will kill off the good bacteria within the satchel. Once you’ve reached the required temperature, pour the water into a glass jar, drop the satchel in and seal the jar with an airtight lid.
While you might be excited to consume your potent Vitamin C straight away, you must leave it in your fridge overnight. This allows the healthy bacteria in the satchel to properly activate. Once the satchel has steeped overnight, you should have 100ml twice a day for three and a half days. Once opened, keep the drink refrigerated.
At Bottoms Up, we’re passionate about sharing knowledge about gut health. If you’re interested in learning more about our High Potency Encapsulated Vitamin C Supplement, we can help you! Get in touch and we will help you improve your gut health today.
