Experience and training
More Than Two Decades of Colon Hydrotherapy Experience
Founded by Suzy Wilson, Bottoms Up Colonics has spent more than 20 years developing a professional, private and practitioner-supported approach to colon hydrotherapy. That experience led to the Rojas Technique®, which centres on slow, carefully guided treatment and close attention to each client’s comfort.
Trained, certified and IICT members. Our practitioners are trained and certified in the Rojas Technique® and hold professional membership with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists. Their training covers closed-system equipment, hygiene procedures, health history screening, contraindications, treatment monitoring and referral when colon hydrotherapy may not be suitable.
Across those two decades, the network has cared for tens of thousands of people over hundreds of thousands of sessions. Experience does not replace scientific research, so we continue to examine emerging evidence and communicate clearly about the potential benefits, limitations and risks of colon hydrotherapy.
Clients at our Nerang clinic receive the same careful screening, practitioner supervision and established protocols used across the Bottoms Up Colonics network in Australia and New Zealand.

Common Reasons People Enquire About Colon Hydrotherapy
People visit our Nerang clinic for many different reasons. Some want help establishing a more predictable bowel-care routine, while others are exploring professionally supervised colon hydrotherapy as part of their broader wellbeing practices.
Every client is screened before treatment. Colon hydrotherapy is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure a medical condition, and persistent or unexplained digestive symptoms should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

How much does a colonic cost at the Nerang clinic?
New clients can book our introductory offer for $150. It includes an initial consultation, a first closed-system Rojas colonic and a complimentary take-home blend. Without the offer, the initial consultation and closed colonic is $190 for a 90-minute appointment.
For returning clients, a standard closed colonic is $170 for 60 minutes, and a deluxe colonic with an infusion is $190 for 75 minutes.
Prices are in Australian dollars and may change. Online bookings currently require a $50 deposit, with the remaining balance payable at your appointment. Please check the booking portal for current pricing, packages and limited-time offers.
What happens at my first appointment?
Allow 90 minutes. Your therapist reviews your health history, checks for contraindications, explains the process and answers your questions before treatment begins.
Your first closed-system Rojas Colon Hydrotherapy® session follows, and your therapist stays with you for the whole session.
What is Rojas Colon Hydrotherapy®?
Rojas Colon Hydrotherapy® is the practitioner-led, closed-system method used at Bottoms Up Colonics. During treatment, filtered, temperature-controlled water is introduced into the rectum and colon through a small, single-use rectal speculum. Guided fill-and-release cycles are then used to assist bowel evacuation.
Your trained therapist remains with you throughout the appointment, monitoring your comfort and adjusting or stopping the treatment when required.
How does a colonic work?
A small speculum is inserted into the rectum only; tubing is not inserted through the colon. Water is introduced gradually while your therapist guides a series of gentle fill-and-release cycles.
Water and bowel contents leave through separate enclosed tubing and flow directly into the waste system. The process remains contained throughout the appointment.
How is a closed-system colonic different from an open colonic?
During the closed-system treatment offered at our Nerang clinic, a trained practitioner remains with the client and actively manages the session. Water and waste travel through enclosed tubing directly into the waste system.
Open-system treatments can involve different equipment, administration and levels of practitioner involvement. Therefore, research or claims discussing “colonics” should be considered in the context of the specific method being described.
Who performs the treatment?
Every session is carried out by a practitioner trained and certified in the Rojas Technique® who holds professional membership with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).
